Description

Superlophus Sunglow is one of the most dependable annuals for heat and drought tolerance. Derived from a native Texan species, it thrives in hot, arid, and sunny conditions—needing water only every few days even in 37°C weather—and has also proven successful in warm, humid climates. Its radiant yellow flowers blanket fine needle-like foliage, attracting pollinators and making it ideal for both containers and landscapes.

Uses

This versatile plant is ideal for use as a border, edging plant, in mass plantings, or in landscapes, and performs beautifully in containers when good drainage is provided. Highly heat tolerant and native to regions with low humidity and drought, it thrives in well-drained soil, making it a reliable choice for both garden beds and potted displays.

Care

Plant in containers or well-drained garden beds, keeping the soil on the dry side once established and avoiding overwatering. At planting, apply controlled-release plant food, reapplying after 3–4 months in long summers, or sooner in containers if plants appear tired or pale; water-soluble plant food can provide a quick boost when needed. If plants become straggly, trim back by up to one-third and follow with water-soluble feed to encourage fresh growth and more blooms. With minimal care and no overpampering, these plants will thrive beautifully.

Wear gloves & wash hands after gardening.
