Diascia Breezee+ 'Little Charmer' offers a compact, mounding plant smothered in bright pink flowers with a darker throat from late Winter through Spring. Compared to other Diascias, Breezee+ have a higher heat tolerance, bigger flowers, and a longer flowering season. Each flower withdraws as it is spent so the plants have a very clean appearance with no older dead flowers showing.
Plant into containers, window boxes, or hanging baskets in sunny outdoor living spaces as either a single planting or in the foreground of larger combination plantings for striking colour and contrast. The effect is just as stunning when planted into rockeries or bordering garden beds.
Prepare your garden bed or potting mix with compost or other organic-based fertiliser before planting, and your Diascia Breezee+ will grow at their best with minimal care. Although the Breezee+ series has been bred for higher heat tolerance, they do not like humidity, so are much better in drier, temperate regions. Hanging baskets are perfect for Diascia Breezee+, as long as you do not allow them to dry out. Water regularly with fortnightly applications of a weak, liquid fertiliser. Diascia are self-cleaning, so while dead-heading is not necessary, a light trim can help bring on a second flush of flower.
Diascias are from Southern Africa where they grow in sunny open areas where they get lots of sunlight. They do not like hot and humid weather. Breeding between the annual and perennial forms has resulted in many colour forms appearing on the market.
