Description

Easy to grow in either full sun or part shade, Evolvulus 'Blue My Mind'(PBR) is a fast-growing, heat-loving, dwarf shrub that produces deep sky-blue flowers up to two centimetres in diameter from early Spring through late Autumn. Young foliage appears as clusters of hairy shoots and quickly become almost round and bright green with a touch of silver. The flowers are borne at the end of the leafy shrub stems in clusters of two or three. The life of each individual flower is not long, but every day new flowers appear on the same branch stem and are always freshest in the morning.

Evolvulus 'Blue My Mind'(PBR) has been granted Plant Breeder Rights (PBR) status as indicated by the (PBR) symbol.

Uses

Evolvulus 'Blue My Mind'(PBR) is perfect where a shorter plant and a splash of bright colour is needed in gardens or combination container planting and holds its own planted singly in feature pots or hanging baskets.

Care

Prepare your pots or garden bed position in full sun or semi shade with well-rotted compost or animal manure a few days before planting. Once planted, mulch five centimetres away from the main stem to about 50 centimetres diameter. Water in well and keep moist until the plant is well established. A regular application of slow-release fertiliser every eight to ten weeks is beneficial. Light pruning at any time of the year can keep your Evolvulus 'Blue My Mind'(PBR) looking its best. Attention to good drainage is necessary for good results, and don't let the soil or media dry out.

Story

Evolvulus 'Blue My Mind'(PBR) is a hybrid of Evolvulus species chosen from the West Indies and Central to South America, with the breeding programs undertaken in Japan and the US relatively
