Also known as The Summer Fuchsia, 'Sundancer' produces elegant pendant like tubular flowers with crimson and scarlet blooms that delight all season long.
A heat resistant Fuchsia, ‘Sundancer’ is a summer flowering shrub growing to two metres with flowers covering the dark green foliage from Spring through early Autumn. With scarlet sepals, crimson to violet petals, and bright anthers, the pendulous flowers seem to cloak the shrub like a swathe of shot silk.
Fuchsia 'Sundancer' is a stunning garden shrub in a mixed garden. It can be planted into a container if large enough to accommodate its wide and deep root system.
Plant out in the garden during Spring or Summer into a bed that has been prepared with compost, blood and bone, or other organic fertiliser. Mulch and water in well. The soil should be kept evenly moist although never overly wet. The root system is wide spread and quite deep giving the plant good protection from the heat. Light pruning is best done as the plant is growing, and only to give it a little shape. Apply liquid or slow-release fertiliser at regular intervals in the flowering period.
Wear gloves & wash hands after gardening.
