The stunning bi-colour foliage of Hypoestes ‘Hippo White’ with shades of dark green and white speckled foliage, combined with their low and compact habit, makes the ‘Hippo’ series perfect for those shady understories in the garden or combination planter. The improved colour saturation holds up throughout the season.
Hypoestes ‘Hippo’ are ideal for mass planting in tropical garden beds, for soft edging along covered paths, for splashes of colour throughout inner courtyards, or for solo and combination pots positioned in part to full shade. The ‘Hippo’ series features larger leaves and more vigour than other Polka Dot plants on the market, filling out your spaces faster.
Hypoestes ‘Hippo’ can be grown in part shade to full shade locations and position where they are sheltered from sun and strong wind. After planting, water well and mulch the plants to keep the soil evenly moist and cool. A light pruning can be done as needed to keep its shape. Flowers are insignificant and should be removed. Use slow release or liquid fertiliser to maintain vigorous growth.
Hypoestes Hippo can adapt to varying levels of light when due to seasonal changes in your garden, but keep in mind that sudden exposure will damage existing foliage and stress the plant.
Wear gloves & wash hands after gardening.
