Description

Lobularia 'Snow Princess'(PBR) may look sweet and smell even sweeter, but don't be fooled. This princess is heat-loving, cold tolerant, salt hardy, low maintenance, fast growing, and does not need deadheading even though flower heads are the mass of the plant.

Lobularia 'Snow Princess'(PBR) has been granted the status or Plant Breeders Rights (PBR) as indicated by the (PBR)

Uses

Lobularia 'Snow Princess'(PBR) is almost unrivalled as an edging for paths, flower beds, borders, low temporary summer ground cover and as a subject to furnish quickly bare spots in the garden with blooming plants. Unlike its close relative Alyssum, Lobularia 'Snow Princess'(PBR) is sterile and won't self-seed in the garden and will remain contained.

'Snow Princess'(PBR) is ideal for use in larger planters to accommodate fast growth and high-water needs. Garden borders, display pots in outdoor living areas, around pools and barbecues and growing in hanging baskets are just some of the uses of this versatile plant.

Care

Lobularia 'Snow Princess'(PBR) does need full sun, high light and is a “heavy drinker”, preferring evenly moist soil. Larger containers and pots are ideal to keep moisture up to the plant. 'Snow Princess'(PBR) is quick to show stress from too little water, but quickly bounces back after the soil is thoroughly soaked.

Vigorous growth and heavy flowering means Lobularia 'Snow Princess'(PBR) needs more food that others, so apply liquid fertiliser regularly to keep up with its need.

Deadheading is not necessary for continuous blooms, but the plant can be snipped back at any time if it outgrows its allocated space, takes over pathways or simply needs a tidy up. Pruning up to half of the plant does no harm.

Story

Lobularia comes from the Mediterranean and Canary Islands region. Lobularia maritima is the dominant species.

Lobularia 'Snow Princess'(PBR) is the result of intensive programs conducted by German breeder Mr Peter Wicki.

Wear gloves & wash hands after gardening.
